Bertil Sunden


Bertil Sunden a pioneer of obstetric ultrasound in Sweden has died at age 92. In 1962 Sunden, a pupil of Ian Donald, was the first person to obtain an ultrasound image of human twins in utero. He also studied of the safety of ultrasound in both animals and humans. His conclusion that ultrasound was safe has been amply confirmed since.
