New FDA rules for describing drug risks in pregnancy.

The FDA has issued a new classification system for using medicines during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The old classification of A, B, C, D and X has been replaced with a more detailed description of the risks and benefits of using each drug in three settings, namely “Pregnancy,” “Lactation” and “Females and Males of Reproductive Potential”.
